What Is The Standard Flange Connection Size For ACM Mill Inlet And Outlet

ACM air classifying mills do not adopt one universal fixed flange dimension for inlet and outlet. The flange nominal size changes with ACM model, airflow volume and material feeding mode, while the flange pressure grade and face type follow unified industrial standards for powder processing systems.

1. Flange Standard Specification

Most JACAN ACM mills use PN10 / PN16 raised face (RF) flanges conforming to EN 1092-1 (ISO 7005). For North American projects, ASME B16.5 Class 150 RF flanges are available as an alternative. Since the mill runs under low negative pressure, low-pressure class flanges are sufficient; flat face flanges can be selected for food/pharma sanitary designs with PTFE gaskets.

2. Typical Flange Sizes By ACM Model

Feed Inlet (material inlet, connects to rotary airlock / screw feeder)

  • ACM-05 / ACM-10: DN50 (2 inch) flange
  • ACM-20 / ACM-30: DN80 (3 inch) flange
  • ACM-50 / ACM-60: DN100 (4 inch) flange
  • ACM-100 / ACM-120 large models: DN150 (6 inch) flange

Air-Powder Outlet (fine powder outlet to cyclone)

The outlet flange is always larger than feed inlet to match high conveying airflow:

  • ACM-05: DN100
  • ACM-10: DN150
  • ACM-20 / ACM-30: DN200
  • ACM-50 / ACM-60: DN250
  • ACM-100 / ACM-120: DN300

3. Important Notes

  1. All above are standard nominal sizes. Actual bolt circle, bolt quantity and flange outer diameter are subject to factory general arrangement drawings.
  2. Flange size can be custom-modified upon request to match existing site ductwork.
  3. Explosion-proof ACM versions maintain the same nominal flange size, but flange thickness and bolt material will be upgraded for ATEX compliance.
  4. Sanitary ACM for food or pharmaceutical materials can switch to ISO sanitary clamp flanges instead of bolted flanges.

There is no single global standard flange size across all ACM mills. The standard inlet/outlet flange is determined by machine model, using PN10/PN16 EN1092-1 raised face flanges as default. Small ACM models commonly use DN50 inlet + DN100 outlet; mid-range units adopt DN80 inlet + DN200 outlet, while large industrial ACM mills use DN100~DN150 inlet and DN250~DN300 outlet flanges.
